Objectives: 1/ Identify cachexia-associated gut microbiome signatures common to and/or specific to different cancer types. • 2/ Explore the role of the gut microbiome as a mediator in cachexia progression in CRC patients. • 3/ Describe the gut microbiome dynamics and muscle and VAT wasting in LC patients. • 4/ Find associations between gut microbiome and specific body and tissue features (e.g., immune, hormonal) in CC of 4 different cancer types. • 5/ Identify potentially beneficial bacterial consortia and microbial metabolites • 6/ Develop ML models for microbiome-based diagnosis and prognosis of CC.

I am a dedicated researcher from Pakistan. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics in 2020, gaining hands-on clinical experience in dietary management of various diseases from three well-renowned hospitals in Pakistan. In 2024, I completed my Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Calabria, Italy, where I conducted research on the ...
At MiCCrobioTAckle, 12 doctoral candidates will participate in an intensive training-through-research program across disciplines and sectors. With academic and industrial partners in the fields of computational biology, microbiology, synthetic biology, clinical, and experimental science, our consortium is prepared to train the Europe’s future leader in microbiota medicine.
